Zentveld’s Australian Coffee is a family owned coffee farm and roastery in the Byron Bay Hinterland, and they have been growing coffee since 1987.
Thanks to growing in the cool subtropical climate of Northern Rivers, New South Wales, our cooler winter slows down the ripening during these months meaning a longer contact time with the coffee plant and a sweeter, tastier coffee.
Naturally Lower Caffeine: Zentveld’s coffee is known for having naturally lower caffeine content compared to many other coffee farms. This makes it a great option for those who are sensitive to caffeine but still want to enjoy a rich coffee experience. Australia is the last growing nation in the world free of pest and disease for Arabica coffee, and because caffeine is the natural pesticide for the plant, the lack of threats means they naturally produce less because they’re living stress free.
Sustainable & Regenerative Farm Practices: Zentveld’s employs environmentally friendly farming practices, such as the transferring of nutrients from our cover cropping to our coffee trees, on-site composting and biodiversity enhancement, which contribute to healthier soil and a more sustainable ecosystem. We have also created a natural insectary thanks to our lack of nasty sprays, so now our farm is home for many native and honey producing bees and other pollinators.
Solar-Powered Roastery: Their roastery is powered by solar energy, reducing their carbon footprint and aligning with their commitment to sustainability.
Crop-to-Cup Philosophy: They control every step of the coffee-making process, from growing the beans to roasting them on-site. This ensures the highest quality and freshness in every batch of coffee.
Local Products: In addition to coffee, Zentveld’s offers a range of locally produced goods, such as honey and macadamias, at their Coffee House and farm shop.
Farm Tours: They offer “Crop to Cup” tours where visitors can learn about their coffee journey and even participate in coffee tastings. It’s a fantastic way to experience the farm and understand the effort that goes into producing their coffee.
